Your Journey to Embrace Change and Chase Dreams!
Aim for the Stars:
Motivational Newsletter
Words: Below 500
"Go for broke. Always try and do too much. Dispense with safety nets. Take a deep breath before you begin talking. Aim for the stars. Keep grinning. Be bloody-minded. Argue with the world. And never forget that writing is as close as we get to keeping a hold on the thousand and one things...that go on slipping, like sand, through our fingers." - Salman Rushdie
What it means to be a writer:
a relentless pursuit of dreams
a willingness to embrace the unknown
a dedication to capturing the fleeting moments that make up our lives.
Example : My recent favorite Korean Drama:It is ok not to be ok
Have you ever watched a Korean drama where the protagonist, often a young woman, defies societal expectations and embarks on a journey of self-discovery through the written word?
Take, for example, the popular series "It's Okay Not to Be Okay," where the main character, Moon Gang-tae, is a children's book writer struggling with childhood trauma. Despite her initial reluctance, she finds solace and strength in expressing her emotions through her stories. She has the power of writing and the courage it takes to share her voice. She remind us that the writer's journey is not always smooth sailing. There will be moments of doubt, imposter syndrome, and setbacks. But just like Moon Gang-tae, we must remember that writing is a form of self-healing, a way to connect with others, and a legacy we leave behind.
Your Turn to Write Your Story:
So, are you ready to aim for the stars and begin your writing journey?
Here are some takeaways inspired by the Korean Wave:
Dare to dream big: Don't limit yourself. Believe in the power of your story and its ability to move others.
Embrace the imperfections: The beauty of writing lies in its rawness and vulnerability. Don't be afraid to share your true self.
Find your voice: What makes your story unique? Explore different genres, experiment, and discover what resonates with you.
Write consistently: Even if it's just a few words each day, make writing a habit. The more you write, the more you discover your voice and hone your craft.
Find your community: Connect with other writers, share your work, and learn from each other. Just like the supportive characters in Korean dramas, find your cheerleaders who believe in your writing journey.
Remember, writing is a marathon, not a sprint. There will be moments of joy and frustration but never lose sight of the magic you hold within your words. So, take a deep breath, let your imagination soar, and write your story, one word at a time.
